Everyday Blessings

God did what we wouldn't dare dream.
He did what we couldn't imagine. He became
a man, so we could trust Him. He became
a sacrifice so we could know Him. And He
defeated death so we could follow Him......
Only a Creator beyond the fence of logic
could offer such a gift of love.

Happy Mardi Gras!
Today is Fat Tuesday in New Orleans
and many cities around our nation. It
is a time of fun and revelry. I have loved
this day since I was a child, and have seen
many in my life. It has changed down the
years and yet it remains the same. It is
the celebration before the solemnity of the
Lenten Season beginning tomorrow
on Ash Wednesday. Throughout this
season it has become my tradition to read my
Bible readings each day, religious books,
deep meditation and prayer to Jesus. Each
morning I set time aside to be with Jesus.
The forty days before Easter has become
to me a time of deep personal reflection,
and a deepening relationship with my
Lord and Savior.
May God be with each of you through
the forty days of Lent starting tomorrow.
