Being surrounded by GOODNESS

I am truly surrounded by goodness.  I think we all are.  I just think we need to notice it more.  I have noticed the simple things that are done like: neighbors shoveling my walks after a deep snow storm, people at the grocery store that allow me to go first because I have less items, confusion at a four way stop as to who should go first and all drivers smile at each other and gesture for the other to go.  I mean REALLY simple things.  But isn't that where it starts...the simple things?  I believe that the Christmas spirit should start the day AFTER Christmas and continue through the year.  Just recently a young neighbor of 24 passed away.  She left behind a 18 month old baby.  I watched how my church family gathered around the family of this girl.  How they set up tables at the church and provided dinner for the family after a sober funeral.  How dozens of neighbors brought in dinner and helped serve the family.  Isn't that what it is all about...mourning with those that mourn...comfort those who stand in need of comfort?  There is goodness around us.  Sometimes it takes US finding it to really see it!  Merrry CHRISTmas.
